The people on this page are those that I came into contact with in Hollywood. Some were customers. Some I did work for in Electronics. It really was a captive audience. I came to Hollywood in 1976. I sold Electronic parts to the recording studios, broadcast networks, and production and post production houses in the day. Then at night I would repair and design equipment for those same people. There were two basic stores to buy parts, and two repair facilities to get your stuff fixed. So the musicians who needed warranty repair didn’t have allot of choices. I had a major advantage in that I already had a connection and trust with them through the electronic parts distribution business, and I had a very good reputation as an engineer, and because of this, I could filter who I wanted to work for, and let the other technicians in town handle the rest. I could not work for everyone, but keeping the clientele elevated, was comforting and reassuring to those I did make time to work with. In those early days there were only two major warranty stations for musical instrument products, the company I started, and Valley Sound. In time, more came along, and today, I do not have a clue how musicians get things fixed, it was difficult enough in times when people really cared about the quality of their work, now we all live in a throw away society, where we produce products for the land fills. I would not even think for one second returning to that business in the world we live in now.
