MusicTek was started by Dennis Young, Kurt Wilson and Freddy Garcia, somewhere around 1981 and the first location was on McCormick Street in North Hollywood, just east of Lankersheim Blvd, one block away from the El Portal Theater I managed and two blocks away from the theater David Harper managed. It was originally financed by Dennis Young.
Dennis Young is, a brother to me, as was David Harper and Bobby Hofmann I have not talked to Bobby Hofmann or Larry Applebaum since the day I left MusicTek, and I have not talked to David Harper since the year 2000, we were always close, and in my experience as close to being a faultless person as I have ever come across.
Larry Applebaum was originally hired to build a counter at the McCormick Street address, he was a close friend of Dennis Young. I loved Larry, I would have done anything for him.
