Poverty, education, mental illness, drugs, alcoholism, are NOT the cause of homelessness. The cause of homelessness is the lack of a home. I have never even heard of a person, who doesn’t want a home, even animals build a nest. The problem is Wall Street. We allowed the banks to take over the housing industry, and when they did, they had investors to answer to, and it became all about money. HUD was the most horrible thing that every happened to the poor. When the government got involved in housing, no privately owned apartment building could compete with the purse strings of the government. HUD paid the apartment owner twice the going rate for section 8 housing, and it was guaranteed income, and came with it’s own government sponsored and paid for Apartment overseer, a case worker, who made sure the occupant behaved. HUD, in ten years, doubled the going rate for Apartments. My Apartment in North Hollywood, a two bedroom, was 175.00 per month in 1978, by 1988 it was $834. per month, now a one bedroom in Pasadena is $2000.00 per month. This year, a couple of months ago, the Federal Reserve, took control of the Treasury Department, and all of the Mortgage Paper, and mortgage backed Securities were handed over to the Federal Reserve. What this means is that the Government, granted, only by name only, because the Federal Reserve is not Federal at all, it is held by a small group of the worlds wealthiest men, is now in control of all housing in America, not the banking system, and in reality, the government in name only. This is the very definition of a fascist dictatorship, when a handful of men own all of the property of an entire nation. It is actually illegal now in this country for a private individual to house or feed the homeless. IF you own an apartment building, or even a bare piece of undeveloped land, you have to answer to the government on who dwells on that land, one reason why falling asleep on your blanket in a park has become illegal. You Americans have allowed the corporations, of which all corporations now are owned by a handful of men, to take over every facet of your lives. In today’s money, a three bedroom house cost about 10,000 dollars in materials, all of the rest of the cost of building a house is labor and government red tape. The housing problem, IE homelessness is caused not by drugs, it is caused deliberately by the United States Government, and the people who support Fascism, which would be the American people. A tiny home on wheels, with cooking, sleeping, shower, toilet, mail slot can be made for a couple thousand dollars, it is just that the United States Government, that is to say, the American People, will not allow that tiny home to sit down anywhere, in Los Angeles when that has been tried, the city government confiscated them. The problem with homelessness is not the homeless, it is YOU demanding that people go homeless, and you will keep doing this until you yourself are homeless, and I am here to tell you, that very soon, if you are living in a 3 bedroom home, you won’t be.
